As a technical specialist, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting technical information about the products and services provided by Sewtec automation. You will need to collate and compile technical information in the form of a technical manual, which will be provided to customers and therefore you will be required to present information in a way that is easy to understand.
To support the Head of Mechanical engineering and senior management team in the management of technical information
Gain understanding of the product or applications and then design and write documentation to explain it to users
Collaborate with designers and managers to clarify any technical issues
To support risk assessments, completing EHSR’s
Updating customer online portal and revision control of documentation.
Provide data for spares quotation.
Gather and analyse the information needs of the user
Organise information according to your user's needs
Write and edit text
Commission, coordinate or prepare illustrations
Review and revise technical manual templates
Use a variety of software applications to present the information
Index and catalogue material.
Works to the company’s Technical Library of External Standards and Internal Instruction Manuals
Ensure data is inputted into the Company’s Database
Understanding of BS/ISO application
Undertake additional responsibilities and tasks as required
Ensure innovative processes are implemented
Attend planning and briefing meetings
Work with translators, printers and service providers.
Working on and managing multiple projects simultaneously
Keeping up to date with developments and trends in the industry and attending training courses
Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD competent
Strong PC skills
Experienced in using Microsoft computer packages, in particular Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Possess understanding of engineering principles and automation solutions.
Competent in all technical aspects of mechanical engineering (ideally gained within a similar environment).
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical engineering drawings
Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills as the role will involve both internal and external interfacing
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to provide quality information within deadlines
Proactive interaction with other functions
Team-player and ability to work on own initiative
Experience of working to tight deadline and meeting customer expectations.
Ability to manage several projects, with the ability to meet shifting priorities.
Experience of working within a multi–skilled environment (. knowledge of electrical and pneumatic components).
Minimum HNC qualified in relevant electrical or mechanical engineering discipline
Significant project management and engineering experience
UK Driving Licence
