Client: Our client is a main contractor currently turning Over £35M who have been trading for 4 years, growing steadily year on year undertaking fast track Design & Build projects up to £15m in value. Based in Kent they specialise typically carrying out projects in and around the Home Counties. Sectors they operate in are Commercial offices, Industrial and Retail. They are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor, capable of running a new build, steel frame project circa £5M in value, reporting into a Commercial Manager that will spend one day a week on site, working alongside a very experience commercially astute Senior Project Manager. They are happy to consider someone who is ready to step up form an Assistant Level, but not currently being given the chance. The first project is near Dartford, the ideal candidate must be able to drive as none of this main contractors work is within London. You can expect to up to 1 – 1 ¼ hours. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business that has a very experienced Senior Management team in place and have an excellent reputation in the market, delivering high standard projects, on time and budget, with an emphasis on repeat business and a non-contractual approach. Role: Quantity Surveyor - £40,000 - £55,000 + Competitive Package – Dartford, Kent Roles & Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Responsible for managing cost within a project or programme. Budget estimating. Preparation of tender documents. Reporting on tenders. Cost reporting. Agreement of final accounts. Serve as interface with the cost, change, finance department and key program stakeholders. Monitor and report on cost against the project execution plan, throughout the entire life cycle of the programme. Attends project review meetings where appropriate and challenges project status. The Ideal Candidate: Strong relationship management skills The ability to use industry and project knowledge to improve profitability where possible Experience with JCT Contracts standard and D&B methodologies Experience with groundworks A steady work history, with 3-5 years proven experience running their own projects commercially A strong work ethic Must be able to drive
