Thatcher Associates are working with a developer who build both high-specification and Social Housing across Devon and Cornwall.
They are seeking an experienced Technical Coordinator/ Technical Manager to join the their team in Cornwall.
You will be managing your own site technical specifications, contract requirements, planning conditions, ecological requirements and any relevant aspects provided in the pre-construction information.
This is a brand new role and an exciting opportunity to join a company that could offer further work or permeant employment after the initial fixed term contract finishes.

About the role: As the Technical Manager you will be an integral part of the design process.
You will interrogate design, mitigate risks and ensure the project will be delivered with limited problems.
You will report to the Head of Preconstruction and assist with various technical reports.
Your main responsibilities will be to manage and oversee the reviewing of such information produced by external consultants in preparation to submit drawings and plans for the purposes of planning, building regulation approval or for sectional agreements.
You will also organise attend design training including relevant CPD, where appropriate liaising with relevant consultants.
You will oversee a variety of projects at any one time and provide support to the wider business, by collaborating with Sales and Land Consultants.
You will be able to work from home when required, however, you will be required to have a full driving license as you will attend site visits and project meetings.

About you: You will need to be adaptable and strong in your approach with a consistent style of managing external consultants.
You will need to have previous experience within the housing and be accustomed to technical drawings, discharging building regulations and planning.
We will consider applicants a Technical Coordinator or Manager level, we would also encourage applications from a consultancy bias.
To s ummarise: Architectural grounding preferred but not essential Previous work for house-builder/ developer/contractor experience Knowledge of residential market A clear understanding of NHBC and building regulations.
