Duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure all customer orders are delivered on time
  • Planning and managing logistics to include warehouse, transportation and customer services coordination
  • Directing and orchestrating the full order cycle
  • External and internal liaison and negotiations with hauliers, warehouse staff, colleagues and other departments
  • Keep track of delivery times, transport costs and efficiency
  • Plan optimal routes and process shipments
  • Resolve, monitor and find solutions for any arising problems or complaints from hauliers, customers and all other contacts
  • Input and manage orders and bookings through the Sage system
  • Coordinate and raise paperwork accordingly for each country delivery requests
  • Booking deliveries with hauliers
  • Ensure customers are kept regularly updated on the status of their orders
  • Close liaison with the sales managers
  • Develop business by gaining new contacts (hauliers, warehouse etc.)
  • Work closely with the accounts department to confirm the invoicing timeline
  • Raising paperwork for returns in liaison with the accounts department for credit purposes
  • Organising and sending proformas to customers
  • Close liaison with accounts department
  • Supporting the operations team where possible/necessary Qualifications and skills:
  • Highly organised & flexible with a calm, can-do approach
  • High attention to detail & accuracy
  • Used to working with tight deadlines in an ever-changing environment
  • Excellent communication skills both on the phone and via email
  • Forward thinker
  • Language skills would be beneficial
  • Ability to work using their own initiative
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Experienced user of Sage would be desirable
  • Strong skills with all Microsoft office applications (excel, word, outlook and access)
