As a Fire Safety Advisor, you will contribute to our vision of being the UK’s favourite residential property manager by:

Providing strategic and operational support to a wide range of teams across the organisation, allowing them to fulfil their fire safety roles and responsibilities to the highest standards.
Supporting the implementation of Fire Risk Management policies, procedures and processes to maintain the highest standards of fire safety across all areas of the business.
Developing and maintaining a positive supporting role with central support functions such as; Asset Compliance, Procurement, Learning and Development, Communications, Business Development, Learning & Development etc.
This role reports to the Head of Fire Safety and does not have any direct reports

About You

You have an innovative and forward thinking approach to problem solving, particularly in complex scenarios and the ability to work on own initiative, prioritising workload according to risk and business need.

Having experience in Residential Property Management, Building Services, FM, or Commercial sectors means you are capable of coaching managers with problem solving and empowering them to have the confidence to make their own decisions

Industry recognised fire safety qualifications and willingness to develop and or a professional member of the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) or willing to work towards

Being commercially focussed and adept in terms of responding to requests for support from partners or external agencies.

Main Responsibilities

Provide technical support to Operational and Support teams, allowing them to fulfil their fire safety roles and responsibilities to the highest standards
Conduct audits on the fire safety arrangements across all areas of the organisation and provide support implementing any areas for improvement as a result.
Monitor and Review the organisations fire safety arrangements ensuring they are implemented and managed to the standards as defined through our organisational procedures and processes
Conduct quality assurance checks on fire risk assessments and associated remedial works ensuing they align to our internal policy and conform to industry best practice
Support Operational teams with the management and rectification of any Enforcement Action, including effective liaison with the Local Fire and Rescue Service where required
Investigate fires and other fire related incidents throughout the organisation, and present the findings and learning outcomes where required
Continually build positive relationships across the organisation supporting our approach to continually building a positive fire safety culture
Continually demonstrate an appropriate level of support and where required challenge to all business leaders, external suppliers, and colleagues regardless of seniority
Attend and actively contribute to meetings as required, typically, H&S Team Meetings, Senior/Regional Leadership Meetings, Safety Committee Meetings, Technical Review Meetings etc.
Escalate serious risk and non-conformances via the appropriate managerial line
