Do you have high-flying career ambitions? Pilot, the UK’s bestselling and most respected general aviation media brand is looking for a new Sales Manager.

As Sales Manager you will be responsible for the team sales activity for our Pilot portfolio, consisting of Britain’s best-selling General Aviation magazine and two market-leading websites. As well as managing a small team you will have your own clients to work with to create specifically targeted advertising campaigns using a multi-media approach.

You and your team are working to monthly targets, placing advertisers’ brands in front of a very enthusiastic audience using print, digital, social media and content marketing as appropriate for each client’s bespoke campaign.

You will be experienced at getting the best from a team and be able to generate new ideas, create leads, enthuse and motivate. You will work closely with the editorial team to understand and influence future content that will interest the readers and advertisers alike.

The majority of your client liaison and contact is achieved over the phone but there are specialist shows and events you have the opportunity to attend throughout the UK to promote the magazines, network and build new contacts.

The role is ideally located in Cheltenham however the location can be flexible for the right candidate. We have offices throughout the country and working from home can also be considered.

  • Experience of driving sales teams to achieve set targets
  • Ability to motivate and boost morale
  • Great customer contact strategies
  • Digital nous - creative with new solutions & ideas
  • Strong sales background preferably within the media/advertising
  • Outstanding communication skills both written & verbal
  • Proven telesales experience
  • Proven track record of delivering new business.
  • Previous experience in a customer facing role.
  • Knowledge of building successful pipelines.
  • Understanding of General Aviation
