Deputy Care Manager
We are actively recruiting for an enthusiastic Deputy Care Manager to join our supported living home based in Gloucester.
As part of this Deputy Care Manager role, you will be expected to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day operation of the service. This includes deputising in their absence, have the responsibility for the direct supervision and line-management of staff. You will be accountable for monitoring, maintaining and providing the highest standards of personal support and service delivery, while promoting independence and choice of all the individual’s living within the home.
Key Responsibilities of the Deputy Care Home Manager:
* Have a level of professional development and registration (may include level 5 leadership in health & social care qualification).
* Have experience of providing direct personal and social care.
* Manage a team including Senior and Care Workers, ensuring best practice is carried out.
* Have experience of working with individuals who have learning difficulties, autism, epilepsy, mental health and complex behaviours that challenge the services.
* Be able to work flexibly in accordance with rostered hours.
* Monitor and ensure that the general standards of hygiene and cleanliness in relation to the premises and equipment are maintained.
* As a Deputy Home Manager, you are responsible for promoting, managing and co-ordinating care plans, and you’ll play a central role in team leadership. From allocating shifts and training days to overseeing recruitment and induction.
* Have knowledge and experience around appropriate regulations/legislation and skilled in budgeting and administration.
The ideal candidate for this Deputy Care Manager position will be highly motivated, energetic, keen to learn, happy to do personal care, wants to help service users achieve their goals and able to remain calm in difficult situations.
Working hours of the Deputy Care Manager
Work is on a rota system over 7 days with. Normal shift patterns are from -3pm and -10pm, but shifts can vary depending on service user need. You will need to be a flexible employee as you will be required to work weekends and bank holidays as per the rota.
Drivers are preferred for this Deputy Care Manager role as our individuals enjoy going out to achieve new daily goals and attend various activities.
