Support Workers - Part time and Bank

Location: CB3, Cambridge Pay: £ per hour, Weekday Days and £ per hour, Weekend days and Waking Nights, pay rates to be reviewed after successful completion of probation Part-Time Hours: Damian and his family are looking for support workers to work regular day shifts from 9:30am

- (12 hours) on Saturdays and Sundays according to the care rota.
There may be the opportunity to cover afternoon/evening shifts from
- (7 hours) on Weekdays during term time, day shifts from 9:30am – 9:30pm on Weekdays during the school holidays or occasional Waking Night shifts from 9:30pm
- 9:30am throughout the week to cover staff absence and to meet Damian’s needs Bank Hours: Ad hoc and variable hours mainly covering Saturdays, Sundays and school holidays (Monday to Friday) Day Shifts, from 9:30am
- (12 hours) according to the care rota.

- 9:30am throughout the week to cover staff absence and to meet Damian’s needs Essential Experience: Confident about working in Damian's own home and sensitive to his needs and wishes and those of his family.
Aptitude and desire to work with children/young adults with disabilities Desirable: Experience of and qualifications in caring for children with disabilities and ability to work flexible hours as required Accommodation (while on duty): Fully adapted family home with carer accommodation Interview Date: As and when applications are received Start Date: A SAP (subject to satisfactory employment checks) Damian aged 15 is a delightful young man, who is extremely close to his parents and two younger siblings.
He enjoys playing on his iPad and watching TV and laughs out loud at things that make him jump Damian likes good consistent routines and care being provided by those that clearly understand his needs.
He has Dyskinetic Cerebral Palsy which affects all four limbs.
He uses an eye gaze equipment to assist him with electronic games.
Damian has non-verbal communication and uses smiles and expression to communicate his feelings.
He requires two to one care day and night.
Damian has his meals and medication via gastrostomy, his diet is very important so set recipes with calorific values are all calculated.
As his support worker, you will respond sensitively and appropriately to his needs and emotions and work co-cooperatively with his Mother and Case Manager.
Ideally you will have experience in behaviour and seizure management along with PEG feeding and administration of medication.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated person to join the team on a bank basis.
