We are seeking a
English Curriculum Lead
for a specialist education provider who support pupils not currently accessing mainstream education.
The role is hours a week 39 weeks (term time only)
Function of role
We seek to appoint an English lead teacher to work across the East Midlands on a full time basis. This is working for an alternative provision who provide outreach teaching and support to pupils who are not currently accessing mainstream education.
Ideally you will be an experienced English teacher and be able to deliver the new functional skills framework. You will be an experienced education professional, with at least three years experience of working with children and young people within an education setting. The successful candidate must hold a teaching qualification such as PGCE or QTLS and have sound knowledge and experience of designing and developing the English curriculum. You will be working closely with the Leadership Team, Governors and Committees as relevant, to foster a positive working relationship so therefore must have strong communication
skills at all levels.
The role will involve the planning and delivery of quality programmes of study to learners who are hard to engage or have additional needs. Teaching is delivered in 1:1 settings and small nurture groups in a variety of community environments, so access to a suitable vehicle to transport children is essential. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate high expectations for all young people and have a proven history in achieving outcomes for learners.
The successful candidate should ideally have experience of working with children and young people or vulnerable adults . You should also be able to evidence and experience of supporting young people or vulnerable adults with their learning through innovative approaches to lesson delivery.
Hold a recognised Teacher Qualification
To be able to evidence of relevant CPD( safeguarding training, diversity training, CAF/EHC training, IOSHH)
Must hold a UK Driving Licence and have access to a road-worthy vehicle
Be committed to delivering holistic family interventions
Be driven to provide positive outcomes to children, young people
