Role Purpose

UKRI Digital Data & Technology (DDaT) is UKRI's corporate IT support function, which brought together 8 of the former Research Council IT functions into a single organisation.

UKRI DDaT wish to consolidate and aggregate its IT contracts and procurements across the 9 units making up UKRI, with a view to driving down costs and obtaining best value for money.

As a Senior Contract Administrator, you will report to the DDaT Contract Manager and work in the DDaT Business Operations Team, located in Swindon/Nottingham. Some travel will be required to the Nottingham/Swindon office. You will assist with identifying IT contracts which can be aggregated and managed centrally across UKRI. Providing guidance on the appropriate procurement process in line with the UKRI Procurement Policy. Your work will greatly contribute to providing value for money for UKRI.

You will engage with key stakeholders, including IT and Project managers, technical teams and various projects, to understand their requirements, advising how these are best met in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.

You will have some experience of raising purchase orders and finance processes providing guidance and assistance to team members as required.

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

  • Some knowledge and expertise in contract management
  • Some knowledge of the various procurement routes to market with the ability to advise on the most appropriate where necessary
  • Effective communication written and oral
  • Effective negotiation skills, leading to positive outcomes
  • Ability to understand and actively engage with stakeholders on a routine basis
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to recognise the value of working with the wider DDaT Department wherever possible
  • Ability to work independently and lead work areas whilst also contributing to the wider team
  • Responsible approach to decision making.
