This is a new and exciting opportunity to join the Finance Business Partnering team at the Alzheimer’s Society as we advise, challenge and support the Society to deliver strong and sustainable financial performance.

This newly created role will lead the Society’s budgeting and reporting processes and be responsible for delivering continuous improvement to the processes in place. The role will also provide financial analysis and insight to the Executive Leadership Team to help manage performance, ensure value for money in all that we do, and to support timely and effective decision making.

Financial Planning and Analysis Manager Responsibilities:

The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager will lead on the preparation of financial analysis and insight for use by senior stakeholders including the Executive Leadership and Board of Trustees as well as designing and leading on critical finance processes. The analysis is not limited to any one area and will cover the breadth of the Society’s activities. It will require the role holder to identify relevant data, gaps in available data and accordingly make judgements that factor in any uncertainties or unknowns.

The role holder will provide financial leadership and robust financial analysis in order to support and enable the Society to achieve its goals.

The Society is about to embark on a finance transformation project to replace its ageing accounting system with a modern system which will completely transform how we are able to report and forecast. The role holder will be able to have significant input into the budgeting and reporting elements of the transformation project to deliver an outstanding stakeholder experience across the Society.

Financial Planning and Analysis Manager Requirements:

We are looking for an ambitious, inquisitive individual who wants a chance to apply their financial skillset to tackling the challenges a successful and growing charity have. We’re committed to ensuring that there is a value-for-money focus to everything the Society does, and we want to continue to grow and to support people affected by dementia, and part of doing so is considering where the decisions of today will leave us tomorrow.

You will be a CCAB or equivalent qualified accountant with at least two years of post-qualified experience. You have FP&A experience and have led or significantly contributed to a budgeting process involving co-ordinating stakeholders across an organisation.

You must be curious, detail-oriented, and able to identify solutions to complex problems and influence stakeholders to ensure changes are implemented and impactful. You will draft papers and recommendations to the Society’s Executive Leadership Team and will need to be able to concisely summarise the problems and solutions for a diverse, senior audience.

You must be confident with Excel, able to deliver modelling and scenario analysis, data summarisations and visualisations. You must be able to design and deliver solutions to financial data consolidation requirements and be comfortable explaining to peers how to use and interpret any models and analysis.
