SALARY: £45,000- £50,000

JOB DESCRIPTION: Senior Technical Sales Engineer / Technical Sales Engineer / Business Development Manager - Engineered / Precision Components to OEMs

· Covering the UK and Scandinavia with a couple of days a month spent overseas the role is a mix of account management / development and new business. · There is over £1m in existing business from general industrial OEM's (furniture, metal office furniture, cash handling, amongst others) and automotive (OEM, first and second tier). · The new business will come from the company's database, your market knowledge and marketing, mainly website generated leads and following up CAD downloads and subsequent follow up, visits and presentations of my client's capabilities. · You will mainly be selling bespoke (90%) solutions with some standard products to OEMs, the bulk of the standard business goes through distributors which is handled by a different team. · There are long lead times of up to 1-2 years - longer in automotive, not only to get new customers on board, but also to get "specced- in" to existing customers' new projects. · Medical and domestic appliances and electronics - specifically locking devices are big potential growth areas. · Account sizes range from £50k- £100k up to £millions annual spend.

REQUIREMENTS: Senior Technical Sales Engineer / Technical Sales Engineer / Business Development Manager - Engineered / Precision Components to OEMs

· To be considered you will need a proven track record of success selling components to OEMs at a high level, preferably with some international experience. · Any experience in automotive, medical, office furniture or electronics OEM markets or electronic knowledge would be preferable as would an engineering background and / or qualifications


· Established over 50 years with manufacturing sites worldwide my client has developed an unparalleled level of engineering expertise in product design, tooling and manufacturing guiding their clients from initial concepts to product integration. · They are a pioneer in the development of quality industrial movement solutions i.e. sliding hardware, more specifically standard and bespoke extension or telescopic ball bearing slides, with a deep understanding of design and manufacturing · A privately - owned business with over 3,000 employees and an annual turnover of over £180million worldwide. They are the world's largest zinc plater with the largest tooling operation in the industry.
