European Internal Audit Manager – Insurance

  • With this leading International Insurance group, you will be Manager in title, however the role requires professionals with a depth of relevant experience over several years and who could cover for HOIA as required as a No2 in the function.

  • The role will have direct reports and require you to support the Head of International Internal Audit with the smooth running of the internal audit department by completing audit fieldwork (around 70%) and reviewing audit fieldwork (around 30%).

  • Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • To plan, manage and execute value added internal audits across all European locations, working with and leading European Internal Auditors and Seniors to provide assurance on the internal control’s environment, governance and risk management framework.

  • Performing testing across all departments and areas including but not limited to, underwriting, claims, reinsurance, finance, human resources, risk management, Solvency II, governance, compliance, actuarial and IT.

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ICAS, ACCA, CIMA) and committed to on-going professional development.
  • Degree educated and a 2.1 or above.
  • Relevant internal auditing experience necessary.
  • Insurance and/or financial services experience necessary.
  • French, German and/or Spanish language skills would be helpful but not essential.
  • Strong communication & relationship management skills with proven ability in engaging with key stakeholders at all levels business-wide across multiple disciplines.
  • Willingness to travel, most specifically around European branch offices (around 20% of the role).
