Risk and Compliance Solicitor

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a commercial lawyer to work within the in-house legal team of a large national company. The multi-faceted role includes providing expert commercial and contractual legal support to a variety of clients to help expand and cultivate working relationships.

  • The role is to work with the head of the Director of Risk and Compliance, and is an additional role to join the existing dedicated team. The role can be based in either of Cambridge or Norwich.

  • Responsibilities:

  • Providing commercial drafting input into client and supplier contracts Responding to risk related questions in tenders Respond to outsourcing related queries, for example contracts with new suppliers to ensure they are compliant with the SRA outsourcing requirements, confidentiality clauses and rights of audit. Advise on coverage issues and liaise with brokers and insurers where appropriate Support with the annual renewal of insurance policies Respond to HR queries in relation to MySRA Log and monitor incidents that are reportable to the regulators Assist with the more significant claims, complaints and regulatory incidents being forensic in your analysis of these regulatory issues Advise on ad hoc Anti Money Laundering (AML), conflict related claims passing on to relevant people if these are not within your remit Support the requirements from Risk & Compliance with the annual ISO reaccreditation As required, report on risk related data statistics including supporting of the management review reports twice a year Provide input into new business initiatives by providing risk and compliance input and expertise Advise on Persons with Significant Control (PSC) queries Delegate work to the Risk Paralegals as appropriate and support with their personal development

  • Skills:

  • A qualified lawyer (circa NQ-2 Years PQE or equivalent) Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to be tactful when required. Exceptional organisational skills & attention to detail Strong financial and commercial awareness. Great time management skills and ability to prioritise. Is a team player Is willing to take on new responsibilities and challenges Is able to work regularly in both the Cambridge and Norwich offices
