The finance manager will have overall responsibility for the management of the finance, business support and administration functions for the agriculture business. **Key responsibilities:** * Work closely with the finance director, agricultural management teams and management accountant with the aim of providing timely and accurate information as required by the group and agriculture management teams* Ensure weekly and monthly profit and loss reporting is completed accurately and on time, as per group reporting deadlines* In conjunction with the agriculture management team, prepare the site budget and communicate to interested parties at site and group level* Report to site and group management teams on variances from the established budget and reasons behind such variations* Interpret and communicate essential financial data to non-financial managers* Manage the capital expenditure process, preparing requests, forecasting requirements and managing the process through to point of order* Prepare periodic financial statements, including budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries* Design, implement and/or monitor a system of controls that ensure financial information is complete, accurate, timely and efficiently reported within the finance systems* Facilitate and manage the preparation of year end statistics* Act as point of contact for the auditors and tax advisers, including year-end inventory procedures for agriculture* Carry out monthly balance sheet reconciliations* Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures* Ensure all business contracts and agreements relating to the agriculture operation are reviewed and updated as required* Manage the finance function including KPI reporting for the agricultural feed mill* Support and motivate the agricultural team, promoting an environment of co-operation and offering financial and administrative support to all parts of the business* In conjunction with HR, to oversee the training and development of the agricultural finance and administration team* Adopt and communicate a positive culture towards health and safety* To undertake any additional tasks or projects, as required either by the agricultural management teams or the finance director **Skills and experience: ** * A relevant qualification ACA ACCA, CIMA or QBE* Experience in a similar management role and an agricultural environment would also be an advantage* A working knowledge of SAP, together with excellent Microsoft Office skills including advanced Excel* Excellent communication and team working skills at all levels in the business* Excellent resource management skills* Ability to convey financial information and understanding to non-financial managers* Well organised and self-disciplined, able to work to tight deadlines* Ability to manage their own workload, delegating tasks where appropriate* Methodical and analytical thinker, with strong financial acumen* Strong negotiation skills base* Able to work unsupervised, exercise judgement and take responsibility and make decisions in the absence of the finance director* Determined and resilient, with the drive to complete tasks, together with the drive to improve efficiencies **Benefits include:** * Competitive salary* 5.6 weeks holiday per year* Competitive Contributory Pension* Life Assurance Scheme funded by Karro* Management bonus scheme* Private medicalAt Karro we are dedicated to rewarding and enriching the careers of the people who work for us.
