Salary: £21,166 - £24,799 per annum plus 5% salary for outside normal office hours meeting support

Location – Service Headquarters, Calcot, Reading

Excellent annual leave allowance 24 days plus public holidays and Flexible Working Hours and Onsite Gym Facilities

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a positive and enthusiastic person with proven administrative skills to join Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service as a Democratic Support Assistant.

You will help manage the administration of our Democratic Support Team which is an important part of the governance of Royal Berkshire Fire Authority decision making process.

You will be responsible for managing a number of internal meetings; producing agenda packs within statutory timescales and assisting in the delivery of the Member Development action plan.

The successful candidate will be:

  • A well organised, methodical administrator
  • Excellent in supporting the preparation of agenda/minutes/reports
  • Able to build professional working relationships with Member Councillors, Senior Leadership Team and fire service colleagues
  • Able to support the introduction of Committee Management System
