Utilities - Electrical Estimator SittingbourneCompetitive salary (Depending on Experience) Alecto Recruitment is proud to be recruiting on behalf of an excellent Multi-disciplined Construction company that specialise in utilities based in Kent and London.My client who offer utilities' consulting and contracting services to a range of diverse clients ranging from national companies to independent developers are offering a fantastic permanent opportunity for an ambitious, skilful and diligent Electrical Estimator. The ideal person will be commercially savvy and ambitious, with a clear understanding of the importance of the role they undertake and the associated responsibilities.The role:The Electrical Estimator is responsible for the timely production of detailed pricing of HV & LV Installations from client specifications, conceptual designs and technical work scopes.This requires the compilation of accurate estimates for multi discipline electrical works, including labour, plant, equipment, materials and sub-contract requirements during the tendering and bidding phases of the project.Key responsibilities and accountabilities:Reviewing and understanding the requirements within tender documents, gaining a full understanding of conceptual designs, technical work scopes and specificationsAttending site visits with the other members of the assigned bid teamAttending meetings with the assigned bid team to agree and sign off specific resource requirements and outputsLiaison with the Client representative to obtain clarifications or further informationGaining a clear understanding of work scope & best estimation with respect to execution of project.Undertake risk analysis for bid, and take ownership of the risk registersIdentification and elimination of hazards in line with the methodology of CDM for all projects (CDM notifiable or not)Production of Bill of Quantities/Schedules as requiredBuild ups of cost of resources for all activities to produce most competitive net costIn conjunction with Procurement, liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain the best available quotationsProduction of and response to enquiries from suppliers and subcontractorsResponsible for pricing works in an analytical and systematic way using an approved systemResponsible for evaluations of options or alternativesProduction of a financial analysis of the estimate in an approved form for reviewWork with Senior Management according to the demands of the bid / tenderReview of project programmesPost tender presentations with the clientAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality and standardsAssist in the development of improved estimating techniquesCreation of intelligent modelling systems which uniquely fit the business' operational capability and modus operandiTrack tender stages and actions and report to Senior managementQualifications and Experience:Will hold a formal qualification related to Electrical Engineering or Electrical Estimating disciplineMust have knowledge of HV & LV installations and switchgearDemonstrable experience in estimating multi discipline HV & LV electrical projectsDemonstrable experience in estimating large and complex bidsAbility to build up price from first principlesExperience in the use of estimating softwareExperience in electrical installation Industrial & Commercial projectsAn understanding of different forms of Conditions of ContractA sound understanding of Construction Design Management (CDM)Identify and allow for Health and Safety issues to provide a safe place of work at all timesAbility to prepare and verify detailed material take-offs from tender documentationAbility to prepare full material scheduleAbility to read and understand construction drawings and design specificationsUnderstanding of the planning and sequencing of construction of projects and as required prepare / review the in conjunction with proposed project team the construction programme, providing man hours and equipment requirement for each activityUnderstanding of the process of procuring Subcontractors or suppliersAbility to compile information for submission to clientsCo-ordinate & follow-up to ensuring post bid clarifications are addressed.Ability to work with external engineering organisations as well as customers/stakeholders representing the company to best effectConfidence to clearly and concisely present rationale and methodology behind estimates in peer review sessionsMust have strong team working ethic and customer focusMust be willing to attend safety courses and hold safety certificatesWilling to work hours to suit tender deadlinesWillingness to travel on occasions as requiredResourcefulness and ability to work under pressureThe salary is dependent on the experience.To apply for this role and find out more details, please forward your CV to ######### .Alecto Recruitment Limited is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
