Here at QVC we are currently recruiting for an Snr. IT Engineer - System Automation in our Knowsley office.

The Sr. IT Engineer provides expertise to assure the effective performance of one or more key components of the organization’s technical infrastructure for large to enterprise environments.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work with the multiple QVC technology teams to provide expertise in automation using configuration management tools such as Ansible.

  • Experience with using infrastructure as code methodologies to implement application and operating system configuration management

  • Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux and Windows.

  • Experience with Terraform and Packer.

  • Experience with blue/green deployments using automation tools such as ansible and terraform.

  • Knowledge of DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Vault, CI/CD pipelines.

  • Experience with Ansible Tower or AWX.

  • Public cloud experience. Azure a plus.

  • Knowledge of source code management practices and general development methodologies. Experience using Git and understanding branching and merging concepts. Bitbucket experience a plus.

  • Automate deployments, maintenance, and common tasks where applicable.

  • Knowledge of using API’s effectively.

  • Work with auditing teams to provide evidence of code enforced in our PCI and SOX estate. Document existing puppet infrastructure as needed by auditing teams.

Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • Several of experience with configuration management tools. Ansible, Ansbile Tower, or AWX strongly preferred

  • Several years of experience with virtualization technologies. Private or public cloud experience a plus.

  • Several years or more of experience with administration of Linux or Windows operating systems.

  • Strong knowledge of source code management tools. Git strongly preferred.

  • Typical candidates will possess 4+ years of relevant experience and a BS degree in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent experience.

  • Redhat Enterprise Linux and Windows Automation backed required

  • Experience with Puppet Enterprise preferred

  • Strong working knowledge Git. Bitbucket and other Atlassian tools preferred

  • Strong scripting skills in relation to job responsibilities (Bash, Python, Ruby)

  • Partners with various teams to ensure operating system configuration and application configuration is managed using Ansible

  • Working within strict change management procedures in an environment with multiple stakeholders
