We are recruiting Support Workers to join an established team of staff supporting people to enjoy an excellent quality of life. The Supported Living service in Kempston, Bedford contains purpose built flats which support individuals including those with learning disabilities, mental health support needs and who are on the autistic spectrum. We offer an empowering model of support which enables people to lead fulfilling and valued lives, to participate in their local community, develop independent living skills and achieve their personal goals and desired outcomes. As well as providing direct care and support, you will have the opportunity to act as a Key Worker supporting people to achieve their dreams and goals. This rewarding role will require flexibility, however experience is not essential for this role, just a high level of motivation and personal commitment is required along with demonstrable skills in engaging service users in planning their support. You will also be expected to work professionally alongside Care Managers and health professionals and to communicate positively with families, carers and friends. You will need good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to develop good quality support plans. You will have a strong work ethic and duty of care and be able to contribute to a positive, team approach. The service has a variety of different hours to support people which are tailor-made care packages. Tenants hours can vary from 12-5pm, 7am-2pm and 2-10pm; the shift pattern is to ensure the tenants get the support they require to have the one to one support they require to have a fulfilled life.
