Closing date: 22 September 2014Our Communication and Interaction Resource Bases are attached to mainstream schools where you will work closely with specialist classroom teachers, providing directed support, care and supervision to children including those who have Autistic Spectrum Disorders and associated language, interaction, learning and communication difficulties. The aim of your support and guidance will be to enable the children to access the curriculum and to facilitate full inclusion into school life, supporting children to learn and develop to their full potential. You should have a quiet and encouraging manner with the ability to remain calm in difficult situations, along with excellent verbal communication skills and an awareness of the importance of inclusion for children and young people with Special Educational Needs. This vacancy is based in Bloxham at the Warriner School. However Teaching Assistants are appointed to the service and may also be deployed to work in other locations around the county in the event that the needs of the service change, this may include Oxford, Abingdon, Thame and Chinnor.
