WasteRecruit are working with a multi-disciplinary consultancy to source a Technical Director of Environmental Permitting to lead the services of the Company in the Environmental Permitting work carried out including the preparation and submission of applications for new and varied Environmental Permits together with applications to surrender Environmental Permits including the assessments and investigations that are needed in support. The focus on the Environmental Permitting work is in respect of the waste management and industrial fields.
In the role you will need to lead the wide range of Environmental Permitting services provided by the Company and manage a team or experienced individuals working in this area. You will need to have a range of Environmental Permitting and associated experience and understand the application and regulation of the Environmental Permitting and waste regulatory regimes. You will need to have experience in a range of waste management and industrial activities, ideally including landfill, waste treatment, inert, non-hazardous and hazardous waste management and waste recovery operations. You will provide direct management of an input to projects and manage others, applying your up-to-date knowledge of Environmental Permitting together with the previous regulatory regimes in respect of Pollution Prevention and Control and Waste Management Licensing. Experience in the application of environmental legislation to a wide range of activities is essential to lead and manage the technical advice provided by the Company. A thorough understanding on the mineral extraction industry and land use planning regime would be extremely helpful
You will need to have a relevant qualification in a specialist discipline area, be experienced in project management, budgeting and financial control and line management and be enthusiastic about applying your extensive expertise in a vibrant and energetic Company.
CIWM membership would be an advantage. As a key member of the management team, you will be expected to play a proactive role in company performance and management and the development of new business opportunities for strategic growth and development of the company.
