We are looking for a Domestic Engineers Mate to join our Orpington Branch. The role is to assist the qualified engineers with the maintenance and repair of stairlifts, through floor lifts and other lifting equipment.

Ideal candidates will have a mechanical or electrical engineering aptitude, putting safety first. You will have strong interpersonal skills having the ability to communicate effectively with our customers and across all levels of the organisation.

Stannah is a British family owned company, who provide elevators, escalators and moving walkways and manufacture stairlifts and platform lifts, we offer repairs and servicing 24hrs a day 365 days a year.  The family is now in their fifth generation and play a hands-on role in running the business, ensuring the family ethos and values are maintained.


  • Assist the engineer in preparation prior to commencing works

  • Attending site and carrying out health and safety risk assessment

  • Advising and agreeing with the customer the intended work program under supervision of the engineer

  • Completion of general operation check under supervision of the engineer

  • Completion of planned maintenance works under supervision of the engineer

  • Call Out Repair Service under supervision of the engineer

  • To assist the engineer in the maintenance of van and van stock
