Do you want to make a difference helping students and researchers fulfil their ambitions? You will play a key role in raising significant philanthropic income from a portfolio of UK donors and prospects to increase our student scholarships and research opportunities.

We have an exciting position based within the University's Individual Philanthropy team and we are seeking a highly ambitious and experienced Senior Development Manager to cultivate excellent relationships with the Individuals who can help us reach our ambitious goals.

About you

Your background is likely to be in higher education or the not-for-profit sectors, ideally with experience of income generation and you must be able to work well under pressure in a complex, multi-national and culturally diverse environment.

As a Senior Development Manager, you will have demonstrable success in storytelling, relationship management and raising significant philanthropic gifts. Confident and credible you will have knowledge and understanding of how to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major prospects in the UK.

As the departmental link with the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences, you will use your excellent collaboration skills to work with colleagues; senior management team and other offices to maximise gift potential from prospects who may have multiple associations and interests.

About the role

As a key member of the Major Gifts team, you will manage a pool of 80 - 100 major donors and prospects capable of supporting the University with five, six and seven figure gifts for areas from student scholarships to philanthropic research.

During the current period, you will be expected to work from home for which equipment will be provided to support you in your role. In time, once normal service resumes, it will be a blended role; UK travel will be required as well as a presence on campus. Protective measures are in place to ensure the safety and well-being of staff, students and visitors at the University of Bath.
