Role Purpose

Sykes Holiday Cottages is one of the UKs largest independent holiday letting agency; a successful travel business with strong year-over-year growth and ambitious growth plans. In order to deliver our desired growth, we drive an impressive amount on investment into our Online Marketing Team crucial in ensuring our place at the top of our industry! 

Working within our fast paced Sales and Operations Team, our dedicated team of Operational Trainers are expanding, adding an Operational Trainer to their ranks to help in the design, delivery and implementation of our bespoke training programs across operational areas. 

This role offers a great opportunity to play a crucial part in asuccessful department, that is itself part of a successful and award winningbusiness. You will play a vital role in supporting our wider Operationsdepartment in implementing different training methods(classroom and coaching), taking into account different learning styles toengage, motivate and meet the training objective. You will be taking new teammembers through an induction programme, identifying and providing ongoing skillstraining and leading refresher training to existing members at our Chester Headoffice and regional offices across the UK, to include soft skills such as sales,negotiation, complaint handling, customer service and team manager training.

 

Role Outline

Joining our dedicated Training team within our Salesand Operational Department, your responsibility as Operations Trainer willbe to deliver in the following areas: 

  • Develop andimplement a training and skills matrix across all permanent roles within thecontact center and owner floor in order to assist in employee development
  • Delivery of operational training across the Contact Centre and Ownerfloor via structured workshops and induction courses
  • Conducting follow up development discussions with line managers, coachingand feedback as required
  • Ensuring all training records and systems are updated accuratelyand well maintained
  • Designing and producing training materials for Workshops,Technical and Soft Skills training sessions as part of a continuous improvementprocess
  • Working with regional offices to conduct training as part of theiron-boarding process and continuous development

 

normal'>The Operations Trainer must be able to work accurately and concisely and have the ability to critically assess their own work understanding what is required. They should ensure that their work is always to the highest standard and that personal effectiveness is maximised. They will have to demonstrate professional credibility and a high level of interpersonal skills.normal'>You may be called upon to provide support to other sections within Operations team. Movement between areas within the team may take place at appropriate intervals in accordance with professional development and business needs.

  • <span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14px">Be self-supporting inproducing training materials to the standard required
  • <span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14px">Recommend changes to skillsdevelopment working closely with team managers
  • <span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14px">Continually reviewpractices and procedures to ensure best practice is delivered at all times.
  • <span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14px">Maintain a CPD plan
  • <span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14px">Implement the EqualOpportunities policy into your daily activities wherever possible.
  • <span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14px">Be responsible for yourown health & safety and that of your colleagues, in accordance with theHealth & Safety at Work Act (1974) and relevant EC directives.
  • <span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 14px">Work in accordance withthe Data Protection Act (1998) and to ensure all new systems are reported tothe Data Protection Officer.

 

Skill Requirements

Essential to have: 

  • A passion for rhe training and development of others 
  • A proven track record of meeting objectives 
  • Self motivated with the ability to work on own initiative and prioritise workload 
  • Sucessful track record of writing and delivering a wide range of training, including technical,. system and soft skills 
  • Successfultrack record of writing and delivering a wide range of training, includingtechnical, system and soft skills
  • Experienceof coaching & developing others
  • Experiencein the design of training courses, materials and workbooks
  • Developmentof structured and effective evaluation of group training
  • Intimidiate level in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint)

 

Nice to have:

  • Advanced PowerPoint skills
  • Experience of working with an LMS and E-learning system
