Band 3 support worker, CAMHS

We are offering a great opportunity to work as a support worker at the Coborn Centre for Adolescent Mental Health in East London. We are looking for individuals who have a keen interest in working with young people and their families to support recovery.

A typical day as a support worker may include helping a young person through a period of extreme distress or helping a young person return to school, engaging young people in therapeutic games and activities such as playing on games consoles, playing sports or going for a walk. The support worker role will give you skills that are transferable to many careers.

The Coborn Centre is located in well resourced, purpose built premises at the Newham Centre for Mental Health premises. We work with young people aged between 12-18 years old and their families. The Centre opened in 2006 and comprises of 12 acute beds, 16 intensive care beds and up to 9 day patient places. The service has led the way in the design of adolescent mental health facilities nationally. We have been accredited as excellent by the QNIC accreditation process and have been awarded Outstanding by CQC

You will work with a large multidisciplinary team who share a wealth of knowledge and experience. You will be able to shadow different professionals and will be offered great development opportunities.

We will offer you an induction into the service to prepare you for the work you will undertake. We also offer regular supervision, reflective practice groups, academic sessions, various training opportunities, yearly appraisals and staff away days.
