Senior Technician (Molecular Ecology/Animal Behaviour)




Reference: A3931Description: The Faculty of Science & Environment, School of Biological Sciences wish to appoint a Senior Technician to support work in the subject areas of Molecular Ecology and Animal Behaviour. This is a fixed term contract for 37hrs per week to provide maternity cover from 22/10/14 until 19/1/15 with a potential to extend to 23/4/15. You will work closely within a team of four technicians based in the Davy Building. Duties will include support for practical classes and research projects. Techniques routinely in use in the Molecular Ecology Lab include RNA extraction and gene sequencing. Experience with the taxonomy of terrestrial and aquatic invertebrates and techniques used in the study of animal behaviour would also be an advantage.
