A fantastic opportunity has arisen in the fastpaced and exciting world of Formula 1.

Future Mobility is looking for a High Voltage (HV) Systems Engineer to join a prestigious F1 team based in Milton Keynes.

The key objective of the role is the systemlevel development of the primary power electronics units including the inverter, converter (high voltage DC to low voltage DC) other subsystems (e.g. contact, fuse) as well as fault investigation and setting countermeasures during the Energy Storage System (ESS) pack production stage or signoff process.

  • You will also be responsible for fault investigation of the ESS pack at factory after races or test use, addressing any consequent countermeasures and conducting the following action within the team.


    • Primary point of contact for power electronics units specification and supplier liaison;
    • Working as an interface between offshore and UK and Power module supplier and inverter supplier;
    • High voltage system architecture design of Energy Storage System;
    • Organisation of battery pack system test from the point of power electronics units (especially the inverter and DCDC converter);
    • Management of development of status and test items (both internally and externally e.g. suppliers);
    • Investigate any fault on battery pack at development, production, signoff process, and used on the race car;
    • Address the countermeasure for the faults and follow up;
    • Analyse the battery or power electronics test data on battery pack with supplier and subcontractor.


    • Battery system / high voltage circuit analysis, monitoring and development experience;
    • Power electronics units (inverter or converter) development experience;
    • Project management experience with supplier;
    • Experience in coordinating development and test schedule internally and externally;
    • EMC analysis experience for HV system;
    • Knowledge of HV switching noise principal and analysis;
    • Knowledge of power devices (especially wide gap);
    • Knowledge of HV subsystem (fuses, contacts, switches, etc.);
    • Experience of generating specification based on user requirements.
