IT Compliance Manager

VIQU are partnered with a leading not for profit organisation to recruit an IT Compliance Manager. Working within the IT team you'll be responsible for ensuring systems, services, processes and products remain compliant. You'll take responsibility for ensuring that the digital and technology teams, as well as wider company stakeholders, are aligned to the right frameworks and standards for compliance, based on the needs of corporate responsibilities, strategic partners, and current and emerging regulators.

As the IT Compliance Manager your key responsibilities are to:

  • Work closely with the head of technology transformation, to ensure that the underpinning systems and architectures implemented meet expectations for compliance
  • Ensure, with the head of technology, that all the live systems that are continued to use stay in control
  • Work with the governance manager to ensure that new projects set and maintain appropriate controls
  • Ensure departmental compliance with existing (eg safeguarding, ISO27001) and emerging (eg NHS) standards, in conjunction with senior leaders in the team, and risk management colleagues in Corporate Audit
  • Simplify and clarify existing processes, and make them as self-service as possible, so that teams and leaders know what is required up-front, and the risk of non-compliance is reduced
  • Proactively support teams in understanding and maintaining assent to frameworks as their projects evolve

Applicants must demonstrate in their application form that they currently use the skills outlined below or have used them previously in employment:

  • Demonstrable experience of managing compliance and certification (eg safeguarding, ISO27001, Cyber Essentials) including leading organisations or complex business units through certification and re-certification processes
  • Detailed understanding of legislative, financial and reputational risk and experience of putting in working practices to prevent and mitigate errors
  • Awareness of information security, the current technology landscape, and data-, software- and platform- as a service models
  • Awareness of the relative risks and benefits of enterprise and SME software
  • Demonstrable experience of managing an organisation or complex business unit's risk register, day-to-day maintenance, and risk reporting
  • Demonstrable experience of running risk and compliance review, management and escalation processes
  • Confident working with sensitive information in a fast-paced environment, balancing competing priorities and managing a broad group of stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience of automating risk management processes
