Job Title: Factory Team Manager/ Production Team Leader

Are you a Production Team Leader from a metal working background? Or are you a Production Operative ready to take the next step into a Team Leader role with a sound knowledge of metalworking processes?

If so, then this role could be for you!

My client is a manufacturer of high quality metal security products for both the domestic and commercial markets and due to a high volume of work, they require a new Steel Team Leader to assist in the daily running of their Commercials sector.

Key aspects of the role:

Managing a team of 12-14 people, including all daily workloads and staffing issues and hands on involvement in production output
Ensuring team manufacturing resources are managed so that planned customer service levels are consistently achieved
Liaising with the warehouse function to ensure requisitions account for orders and residual stock available
Highlighting production issues, taking ownership to identify root causes and drawing up action plans to prevent recurrence
Monitoring, reviewing and improving on cost per unit, quality of completed products and process times across the factory
Maintaining and reporting against agreed departmental performance measures, including productivity targets to an agreed timetable and against KPIs
Ensuring adequate availability of motivated and appropriately trained team members to maintain effectiveness and efficiency of the factory
Working to agreed housekeeping standards in line with 5S standards across the department, including Safety the (6S)
Complying with all legal and audit requirements, including Health & Safety and risk assessments
Working closely with the health and safety manager and being responsible for the health and safety of your area to ensure the safety of team members at all times. The post holder is required to carry out their duties in accordance with SWS UK Group Health and Safety policies and proceduresYou will:

Organised, and able to use own initiative to prioritise
Team player, who actively seeks to increase team capability by engaging and developing team members
Proactive with a positive 'can do' approach, who role models our company values and behaviours
At least 2 years' experience in leading a team in a factory environment
An understanding of Leam and six sigma principles may put you at an advantage
Keen to support the implementation and delivery of ISO and Health and Safety best practice
