Procurement Manager (Energy-from-Waste)

£45,000 - £55,000 + Holidays + Business Mileage + Subsidies + Progression

Excellent opportunity for a Procurement Manager to join one of the UK's leading Energy-from-Waste businesses in a role that will see you taking on full responsibility for the procurement process while being able to put your stamp on a major aspect of the business.

With plants across the UK this company leads the way in providing renewable energy from the anaerobic digestion process and has further plans to continue growing in line with their strong financial position.

In this role the Procurement Manager will hold full responsibility for the procurement and purchasing processes as well as the strategies, systems and relationships that define them. This will involve working directly with the CFO, stakeholders and the legal department to evaluate bids, negotiate contracts and achieve cost saving measures through economies of scale.

The ideal candidate will come from an SME where they are responsible for all aspects of procurement and purchasing or will come from a larger company where they are keen to step up into a role that will get them more involved in all aspects of the business including strategy and development. Experience within the Waste, Wastewater, Energy-from-Waste or Renewable Energy industries will be advantageous but is not necessary.

This is a great opportunity for a charismatic leader and 'people person' who thrives when working autonomously to join one of the largest companies in their industry in the UK with a role that will see you growing in your career alongside the company.

The role:
* Responsibility for procurement process and purchasing strategies across all departments to implement cost-saving measures, generate economies of scale and procure to a high standard
* Evaluation of bids and potential suppliers to determine best products and services in line with company strategies
* Working alongside stakeholders and suppliers to negotiate, agree and monitor contracts
* Supporting and managing tendering process for large purchases
* Financial data analysis, forecasting and reporting

The Person:
* Qualified to degree level in a relevant subject
* Member of CIPS (desirable)
* First-rate negotiation skills and experience of managing contracts
* A 'people person' with an aptitude for leadership and collaboration with stakeholders
* Able to analyse, interpret and relay data in an effective manner to influence decisions and strategy
* Background in Waste, Wastewater, Energy-from-Waste or Renewable Energy (advantageous)
* Full UK driving license and comfortable with travel/overnight stays where necessary
