Position: Senior Software Engineer - Testing
Location: Edinburgh region of Scotland

The primary objective of this role is to develop test infrastructure and protocols for embedded software testing and quality assurance used in the electrification of commercial on and off-road vehicles

To do this the Senior Software Engineer - Testing will be required to:

Orientate quickly into the role to understand the business, it’s products and application, and the various team interactions
Develop a keen sense of cultural and matrix style management in order to operate in this diverse and multi-faceted environment
Plan and manage the software testing on the company's software platform level and across selected development projects
Contribute to the design and implementation of the automated testing infrastructure
Define software test coverage metrics according to project requirements
Communicate the test design principles to the development team and ensure uniformity across the software platform
Participate in the implementation of the tests from the unit test level up to the customer acceptance tests
Define and document testing requirements
Co-operate with software developers and system engineers in verification and validation tasks throughout the projects
To maximise your opportunity to create value and benefit from this dynamic growing and exciting business, it is expected you will already have experience in a similar role, having accumulated skills and experience such as:

Sc. or equivalent in software engineering or electrical engineering with 5+ years’ experience in software testing
Experience of software testing, excellent understanding of software test design principles
Experience of automated testing frameworks (unit test and integration test)
Ability to establish a vision, and to guide others in the right direction
Being an effective team player, but also able to take a leading role and responsibility
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
Basic understanding of embedded software development in C or C++
Experience of using a requirements management tool (such as Polarion)
Understanding functional safety in software testing (especially ISO 26262), experience of FuSa projects in the automotive industry (desirable)
