Open Banking API Manager - PSD2/Fintech

Open Banking API Manager sought by leading financial services organisation based in the city of London.

As the Open Banking API Manager you'll take ownership for the underlying API capabilities used to create, deliver an iterate new experiences delivered through Open Banking, a Fintech Partnership or both. You'll own the roadmap and strategic direction for the API's and support the Head of Digital Propositions & Partnerships in managing relationships with third parties using those API's as well supporting more widely in forums with the rest of the industry such as the FCA and Open Banking Implementation Entity (OBIE)

Responsibilities:

  • Own the API strategy and roadmap for the companies API's considering both compliance obligations to the regulator and other industry bodies as well as what new API functionalities we need for the company to be a leader in banking-as-a platform capabilities.

  • Be accountable for the delivery and specification of new API's and work with our technical teams as a "business owner" to see them come to life. Juggling the balance of business need, customer need and delivery deadlines

  • Own the reporting requirements for Open Banking and PSD2 into required regulatory bodies

  • Take the lead on growing our developer ecosystem and be the point of contact for 3rd parties integrated into our API endpoints.

  • Support the head of the division in engaging with the rest of the industry and the regulatory bodies at ad-hoc industry forums or conferences

Requirements:

  • Technical knowledge of API's and Open Banking plus knowledge of key trends in fintech and retail banking and their implications for customers

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with either professional experience or a clear interest in technology start-ups/scale-ups.

  • Being good at balancing solving complex problems with fast tactical changes. You will need to be good at knowing where our time can be spent most effectively, and making high quality decisions quickly, with data where appropriate

  • Being comfortable operating outside of your comfort zone and dealing with ambiguity
