The Data Engineer (Automation, Metadata, AI, Data Pipelines) Role:

You will play a key role in operationalising data and analytics/digital business initiatives. You will mostly build, manage and optimise data pipelines, consequently moving these data pipelines into production for key data and analytics consumers, such as head of BI or business/data analysts. You will report to the Head of Change Management whilst leading a virtual team.

You will also guarantee compliance with data security requirements while creating, improving and operationalising these integrated data pipelines. You will evangelise effective data management practices and liaise with stakeholders and subjectmatter experts to plan and deliver highcalibre analytics/data science solutions. We are seeking an individual with a strong ability to interact with the business and someone who is keen to progress down this route: if you want to move into strategic data project delivery and business engagement whilst keeping a portion of technical delivery; this could be the perfect role for you.

Requirements for the Data Engineer (Automation, Metadata, AI, Data Pipelines) role:

  • 3+ years of work experience in data integration, optimisation and data quality, and/or other areas relevant to data engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience working in crossfunctional teams to support a multidepartmental data management/analytics initiative.
  • Ability to design, build and manage data pipelines for data structures encompassing data transformation, metadata, data models and workload management.
  • Knowledge of database programming languages like SQL, PL/SQL for relational databases.
  • Experience with heterogeneous datasets in building/optimising data pipelines, pipeline structures and integrated datasets using traditional data integration technologies
  • Experience with compliance and data quality/security, collaborating with information stewards and privacy/security officers in moving data pipelines into implementation with suitable data quality and security standards.
  • Proven ability to work across various deployment environments such as cloud, hybrid and onpremises, numerous operating systems and through containerisation techniques.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and the ability to apply DevOps/DataOps
  • Ability to communicate with stakeholders confidently.
