SLR has a busy, well established hydrogeology, hydrology, drainage and flood management team distributed widely throughout its UK office network. Due to ongoing success and a busy forward order book, it is looking to expand its team with the appointment of a graduate hydrogeologist at Project grade, located in Exeter office.
This position presents an outstanding opportunity to join a large team of hydrogeologists and hydrologists and be part of SLRs Water Environment group which also comprises flood risk and drainage specialists, geomorphologists and geochemists. The successful candidate would also have the opportunity to work closely alongside our Land Quality, Geotechnical and Civil Engineering Teams. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Working under the guidance of more senior members of the team, the successful candidate will be required to prepare, organise and undertake a range of hydrogeological and groundwater based assessments which would include:
• Contributing to the production of hydrogeological and potentially land quality assessments;
• Drilling supervision, water quality sampling, permeability testing and hydrogeological walkover surveys;
• Hydrogeological modelling; and
• Assisting writing and preparing technical reports and environmental impact assessments.
This role will involve undertaking projects and site investigations across other UK locations and could include international working if the opportunity arises. This role may therefore include infrequent periods working away of up to 5 days at a time.
PERSON SPEC SUMMARY
Candidates should be able to demonstrate:
• MSc Hydrogeology
• BSc Geology (or related) degree level qualification (or higher);
• Experience/knowledge of hydrogeological risk assessment;
• Confidence for lone working on sites and working in remote locations;
• Excellent numerical, written, organisational and communication skills; and
• Full driving licence.
