Research Assistant - Centre for Evaluation (PHP-PHES-2019-15)

The Centre for Evaluation aims to improve the design and conduct of evaluations of complex public health interventions through the development, application and dissemination of rigorous methods, and facilitate the use of robust evidence to inform policy and practice decisions. Methods development is core to what the Centre does, with themes on quantifying impact, process evaluation and synthesis of evaluation studies led by globally recognised leaders in their fields.
Applications are invited for an early career researcher interested in evaluation of sexual and reproductive health and rights. The post will be based within the Centre for Evaluation at LSHTM and will jointly support the Centre’s activities and contribute to an international programme of evaluation research in sexual and reproductive health and rights, as part of the Approaches in Complex and Challenging Environments for Sustainable SRHR (ACCESS) research consortium
The successful candidate will have experience of evaluation methods through training, work experience or participation in evaluation or research projects, good communication skills and an ability to work independently and in collaboration with both academic and administrative staff across the School. The post holder should have excellent organisational skills and proven ability to manage their own workload. Further particulars are included in the job description.
The appointment is based in London. It is full-time and available from 1 October 2019 (or as soon as possible after) for 12 months. The salary will be on the Academic Pathway salary scale, Grade 5, £34,854 to £40,011 per annum, inclusive of London Weighting. The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Director’s Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available.
