Project Engineer (Construction)
An opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer with a focus on Construction is required to support a Nuclear a site.
In this role you be part of a several hundred strong team across the UK, however you will work within smaller Portfolio team based at the client site with occasional business travel to other sites and stations. The team you will work within will be both diverse and inclusive and you will be supported locally by both the employer and end client. Our team is co-located across the UK from Torness down to Dungeness. Our projects vary from low value to those delivering major programmes over many years. The varied type of work is too extensive to list within this post.

They encourage each other to continually learn from each other and develop themselves and others and working very closely with the end client all team members will receive defined SQEP development in the role.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Typically, HNC or equivalent qualification or experience in an appropriate discipline . civil, C&I, electrical etc.
Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) qualification. Training and Development can be provided in the role.
Supervision of work to high standards of performance in line with Project Procedures and applicable Standards, through the leadership of 'Setting to Work' briefings with safety and quality focus and completion of site surveys and pre job walk downs to ensure all aspects of the work are captured and any special requirements identified and actioned.
Routinely reviews fleet OPEX and project lessons learned (with post job de-briefs) and applies to improve performance in their work area. Contributes to fleet OPEX and lessons learned with safety audits, safety stand-downs and toolbox talks.
Management with directions, expectations, and priorities for daily activities with clearly communication to personnel and third-party contractors, followed by reviews of third-party contractor method statements, risk assessments, other documents, and drawings.
Ensures teams are adequately resourced to deliver the requested work to the project schedule, including daily manning levels, and monitoring progress against the project schedule and provides regular reports as required by the Project Manager and Construction Manager.
Prepares work order cards and supporting documents and drawings. Carries out role of APSA when authorised.
Perform the duties of a Field Supervisor and performs supervision commensurate with the complexity and importance of the activity to ensure safety and quality of the work performed, by spending time in the field monitoring, observing and assessing performance to maintain and reinforce high standards of work. Aspects monitored include work practices, application of HU tools, application of industrial safety and radiological protection practices, compliance with environmental requirements.
On occasion the Project Engineer (Construction) may also perform the duty of a Nominated candidates will be asked to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard Pre-Employment check and will be required to undergo various checks including: Identity, Right to Work; Employment/Education History and Criminal Record.
