Purpose of the role
The Manufacturing Product Engineer will use their technical knowledge and attention to detail to implement, improve, and maintain manufacturing specifications for complex epitaxial wafer products. They will work closely with Sales, Technology, and Operations teams to ensure that the customer requirements are accurately captured in order to enable manufacturing readiness. They will proactively participate in system-level improvement projects to continually improve IQE’s execution and customer satisfaction.
Create and update manufacturing specifications into product management system for assigned products
Liaise with IQE Technical Point of Contact (TPOC), Sales, and Operations to ensure the technical specification fully captures customer and internal requirements
Capture all information from the commercial and technical review to provide timely instruction to stakeholders
Conduct and monitor completion of activities in accordance with defined customer care policies
Monitor manufacturing schedules to ensure timely receipt of final customer specifications and release of work orders
Proactively maintain Revision control and capture specification changes throughout product life cycle
Continuously assess best practise processes to develop and optimise efficiency of the department and data systems
Prepare, analyse and communicate daily, weekly and monthly departmental KPI performance as required
Adhere to all internal safety, HR, environmental and quality guidelines & procedure
Ensure 100% accuracy in translating customer specification into IQE standard format, IQE design.
Deliver specifications on time in accordance with established internal service level agreement
Minimize order-to-production processing times
Ensuring all obligations to fully satisfy customer expectations are conveyed to the Production, Quality and Logistics depts.
Continual improvement activities to maximize departmental efficiency
Qualifications / Essential Skills
Graduate or equivalent in an engineering or science discipline
Computer literate – experience of use of databases and computer programming would be an advantage
Extremely attentive to detail
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
Well organized and able to prioritize own workload to meet set deadlines
Ability to work accurately and precisely in order to clearly communicate information and instructions
Team worker, able to develop good working relationships with colleagues to ensure a high level of departmental performance
