The Company

A great opportunity for an experienced Area Sales Manager, working for a market leading manufacturer of building products for both new build and refurbishment in the Social Housing and domestic housing market.

The Role

* The Area Sales Manager has responsibility for all sales activities in the assigned accounts/region, maximising sales turnover through the distribution network by assisting distributors with technical support and driving sales back through them.

* Proactive management of the company’s extensive distribution network . building relationships, negotiation of pricing identifying growth opportunities, dealing with issues and finding solutions to resolve the

* Support the distribution network with product training and technical backup.

* Gain specification for the product ranges in LA/HA, Developers, Contractors.

* Follow contracts and specifications through to an order, via the distributors, by supporting prices where necessary to gain the business.

* Identify contractors purchasing competitors’ products and work closely with existing stockist network to secure business.

The Candidate

* An experienced Area Sales Manager, with strong distribution sales experience.

* The working environment will be one of great autonomy requiring a proactive approach to managing the construction opportunities in the region.

* Good relationship building and problem solving skills.

* Clear communication ability at all levels of business.

* Technical understanding of Architects drawings.

* A proactive dedicated individual, with the ability to gather information & to gain an in depth understanding of the local market.

* The successful candidate will be self-motivated and goal orientated and possesses the ability to work under pressure and demonstrate resilience, stay in a positive frame of mind (when the going gets tough), possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and above all be sales driven.

* Naturally persuasive, creative and self-motivated you will be able to recognise opportunities and use your own initiative to convert these into sales. You will have an open communication style; friendly, conscientious and committed above all you will be a team player.

* You should be familiar with the key business drivers within the construction and distributor sector.
