We are currently recruiting for a Recovery Support Worker Substance Misuse based in Sutton. The role is temporary until March 2021.

Key responsibilities

To provide specialist support and interventions for service users in the South London MH Rehabilitation and Recovery Service who are using drugs and / or alcohol
To work with Senior Recovery Workers in their support of service users who are using drugs and / or alcohol to enable them to be more knowledgeable and therefore effective in their support of people with dual diagnosis
To work with the Senior Recovery Workers in carrying out strengths and aspirations assessments and safety planning for service users who use drugs and / or alcohol
To attend Service User, Care Programme Approach (CPA) review meetings as appropriate.
Cco-produce group work for service users around dual diagnosis including but not limited to alcohol / drug interactions with MH medications, effects of drugs and alcohol, healthy lifestyles, treatment regimens for substance misuse and the cycle of change
To co-produce training sessions including bite sized workshops for staff around a range of areas related to dual diagnosis including signs and symptoms of drug / alcohol use, effects of drugs / alcohol, cycle of change and motivational interviewing, treatments available for substance misuse.
To create a database of resources for the team to use around drugs and alcohol including links to local agencies and national resources
To liaise effectively with other agencies, specifically substance misuse and dual diagnosis services as well as other services along with the Key Senior Recovery Worker, involved in the support of service users Co-Production
To define the relationship between service users and staff as one of mutuality and reciprocity rather than of dependency
To facilitate the engagement of service users who are using alcohol and / or drugs in the development and delivery of group work for their peers, and training for staff members, creating a focus on strengths and abilities.
To support service users who use drugs and / or alcohol to effectively take part in the design and delivery of the service and to ensure that their voices are heard in any consultation processes
To encourage and enable with service users who use drugs and / or alcohol to work alongside staff as partners in the delivery of services Administration
To maintain accurate service users' records on case management system for each specific service user who uses alcohol and / or drugs in conjunction with the Key Senior Recovery Worker.
To keep effective records of all internal and external communication regards specialist dual diagnosis support to service users including written evidence of verbal conversations.
To keep effective records on all attendance from services users at group work sessions and all staff at training sessions. Policy and Practice
To take part in promoting and developing the service standards of the organisation.
To have knowledge of and follow relevant legislation, policies and procedures.

To register with Tradewind you will need a minimum of 2 years' experience working within Health and Social Care and be able to supply up to 5 years referencing. An enhanced DBS will need to be completed or if you have one on the update service this can be accepted.
