Our client is renowned as a market leader in the provision of innovative and bespoke integrated systems and offer a range of high quality services and solutions that encompass Project Management and Implementation, Consultancy and Software Development to blue chip clients worldwide, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing planned programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit a number of enthusiastic, technically passionate, ambitious and resourceful Junior Field Service Technician professionals to join their dynamic and talented Systems Support team.
The team are responsible for the design and modification of existing SCADA and PLC software and associated subsystems, and also perform preventative maintenance and a 24hour emergency call out service to customer sites throughout the UK. The successful candidates will be based out of the Derby head office and demonstrate a strong interest in engineering and technology and the ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a strong professional team, responsible for all aspects of planning, procuring, maintaining and reporting over a wide range of sites and subsystems.
As a Junior Field Service Technician you will be a determined and conscientious individual who thrives within a fault diagnosis and problemsolving environment and is comfortable in working in a customer facing role to deliver the highest levels of customer service at all times, and essentially will be able to undertake extensive travel throughout the UK on a regular basis, realistically staying away at customer sites as and when required.
In addition to undertaking build and test activities at the Derby Head Office when not out in the field, you will also be responsible for planning, procuring, maintaining and reporting over a wide range of sites and subsystems across the customer base, so excellent organisational and communication skills are essential for the position.
Whilst extensive training on the company product portfolio is available, it is envisaged that the successful Junior Field Service Technician candidates will be qualified to at least C&G level or above in a relevant electrical, IT, electronic or controls related discipline and will essentially hold a full UK driving licence, with knowledge or interest in the use of PLC and SCADA systems proving distinctly advantageous. The ability to obtain security clearance to allow working at airport locations is also essential for the position.
