Lead Unity Developer

Our client is a white label supplier of mobile Apps containing Puzzle, Word and Number games. They are launching our first App in partnership with a high profile media partner in Q4 2019 and are building a pipeline of related products for both domestic and international release.

They are seeking a LEAD UNITY DEVELOPER to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading the release and post-release of a bespoke mobile puzzle game for a large UK brand

Requirements:

  • Strong professional background in gameplay programming or portfolio of industry-quality personal releases
  • Unity/C /NoSQL/REST
  • Have shipped fully-featured mobile games
  • Have extensive experience leading architectural design of medium sized software products
  • Have extensive knowledge of common programming paradigms and design patterns
  • Have an informed opinion with regard to UI/UX design
  • Experience creating clean, robust and extensible APIs
  • Experience with producing simple graphical elements
  • Can dive into an existing codebase and quickly understand the structure
  • Build logic in discrete chunks to be reused in future titles
  • Knowledge of version control systems (we use git)
  • Familiarity with unit testing and continuous integration pipelines
  • DevOps knowledge required (we use an AWS stack)

  • Familiarity with *nix for server maintenance and supplementary webapp deployment
  • Familiarity with lower level game development frameworks (XNA/Monogame) to support legacy projects
  • Comfortable with basic mathematics for game programming
  • Linear algebra
  • Vectors (dot product, cross product, normalisation)
  • Matrices
  • Quaternions
  • Simple physics (spring + mass model, friction, gravity)
  • Experience meeting with clients to discuss requirements for a proposed software solution
  • Experience with the submission process to common app stores and best practices regarding code signing/key storage
  • Independent thinker, able to work on cross-domain issues without technical guidance
  • Can independently compartmentalise requests and tackle them in order of priority
  • Native level fluency of English (spoken and written)
  • 2:1 degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
