We are looking for a 2nd Line Support Engineer to join our weekend team in Telford. The working pattern for this role is Saturday to Monday, from 08:00 to 20:00 each day. This may suit working parents (to save on childcare costs) or students (classes during the week) or those who have other commitments during the normal working week.

We are looking for a 2nd Line Support Engineer to join our team in Telford. As a 2nd Line Support Engineer you will work as part of a talented service desk team. A typical day would involve investigating and resolving issues on a wide range of systems, actively managing and maintaining a list of assigned calls and keeping customers up to date.

Skills, Knowledge and Experince : The 2nd Line Support Engineer should have experience of working on a service desk ideally with an IT outsourcing provider. Any experience managing technology migration projects would be an advantage. Technical skills provided by our 2nd Line Support Engineer include:

  • Windows 2008/2012/2016 Server, Active Directory, Group Policy
  • Exchange server 2010/2013/2016,
  • Office 365, Office 2007/2010/2013, Citrix, Lync/Skype for Business
  • Telephone systems (IP, SIP)
  • Network devices including firewalls, TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP
  • IP routing, IPSec, VPN, VLAN, LACP, LAN switches and route
  • Remote troubleshooting of hardware issues and operating system level problems
  • Support experience in an ITIL based service desk environment.

It is not essential that you have all these skills, we pride ourselves on the training we provide to upskill our Engineers at all levels.
