Outstanding school in Preston seeking a Newly Qualified Teacher (ECT) for their Year 1 class.
Your new company
Hays are recruiting on behalf of an OFSTED Outstanding school in Preston, who are seeking a Newly Qualified Teacher (ECT) to join their team until the end of the academic year. The schools Year 1 class Teacher has unfortunately stepped down from her position due to long-term health issues and will return in September 2022. The school is seeking a NQT to step in, and they are happy to offer support with NQT inductions.
The school has an excellent reputation locally, with good behaviour and an outstanding level of education across all year groups. There is a range of experienced teachers at the school, who are all willing to offer guidance and support. The school understands many NQT's have had interrupted/shortened placements due to the pandemic, and they have pledged additional support because of this.
Your new role
In your new role as a Year 1 Teacher, you will take on full class responsibilities from day one, planning and delivering lessons across the national curriculum. The school has a specialist PE teacher, meaning you will not be required to deliver these lessons. Behaviour in the Year 1 class is good, with only minor SEND conditions present; this is an ideal setting for any NQT to complete their NQT induction.
Although this position will be long-term temporary for the remainder of the academic year, there is potential for this to become permanent, subject to performance. The school is willing to support your first NQT year.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will have obtained Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) within the last 2 years. This could be via a bachelor's degree, PGCE or SCITT programme. Teaching experience as part of a school-based placement is essential; we will need to approach this school for a reference. A can-do attitude and passion for education is essential, as the school values personality above all else.
Upon application, you will be invited to register with Hays. Registration must be completed to be put forward for the role. One of our Primary Education recruiters will contact you to guide you through the process.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will receive a market-leading rate of pay (between £86 and £100 per day DOE). As a Hays Teacher, you will gain access to our exclusive e-learning platform - where you can complete training on safeguarding, child protection and more. Registered candidates will also gain access to our refer-a-friend scheme, where you can earn £250 per referral.
The school have promised to support you through the first year of your NQT induction. You will be assigned a mentor (senior member of staff) who will offer guidance throughout.
