Location: Pirton, Wadborough WR8 9EF – Transport Required due to rural location

Hours: 12 hour shifts preferred, but may be negotiable to 6 hour shifts

Pay: £ per hour. Overtime available

About us

Pirton Grange provides Specialist Residential Nursing Care & Support for clients with Huntingdons, ABI and Physical Disabilities in the main house spread over two floors.

Pirton Grange has beautiful, extensive and well maintained gardens, it’s situated in a set back, rural location. Perfect for those who like to be surrounded by beautiful sceneries and wildlife. We have an amazing sensory garden, where residents love to come and explore along with other interactive and exciting environments like our music room.

What we need from you

As a Support Worker you will be providing the best care possible. Whether you are assisting with personal care, medication or helping with meal times, all these make a big difference to someone’s quality of life. Always ensuring they are as comfortable as possible, you will need to be discreet and build a rapport with the person you support to ensure a more individual and personal experience, adapting to each individuals needs and requirements, providing care with dignity and respect.

Job Responsibilities

*

Supporting and assisting people with their personal care and ensuring all of their needs are meet, including moving and handling using hoists when required.

*

Providing assistance with feeding, promoting independence wherever possible, assisting with Peg Feeding may be required, but training will be provided.

*

Excellent record keeping skills, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.

*

Administration of medication, keeping accurate records of all medication given, training will be provided.

Skills and Experience required

Essential

*

A genuine desire to promote an individual’s independence and provide person centred care.

*

Innovative and forward thinking. Each day will be different, though quality care is fundamental in everything we do.

*

Excellent communication skills are required, as well as excellent listening skills, as you will be supporting people who use various methods of communication.

*

Good listening skills and be able to follow guidelines.

*

Knowledge/experience/desire to support individuals with varying needs.

*

Good basic comprehension of English language including basic literacy and numerical skills ., GCSE level or equivalent

*

Ongoing commitment to own personal development and training

Desirable

*

Level 2/3 Diploma in health and social care or equivalent

*

Hold a full driving licence

*

A relevant First Aid and/or Food Hygiene Certificate

All successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced DBS Check
