The Company
Growing organisation based in Newcastle city centre. 

The Role

  • Liaise with sites to ensure payroll information is complete, authorised and received in a timely manner
  • Calculate and arrange the payment of staff wages and salaries through Sage payroll including preparation and distribution of payslips
  • Deal with employee payroll queries arising
  • Assist in the management and administration of monthly, four weekly and weekly payrolls, including management reporting and statutory filings including, but not limited to, P14/P60, P11D, PAYE Settlement, P45 and P46, on a timely basis within required deadlines
  • Complete and submit pension reporting within required deadlines
  • Liaise with and complete forms for HMRC as necessary
  • Assist in the processing of court orders and statutory payments . SSP, SMP SPP, SAP etc
  • Assist in the creation of month end / period end payroll journals for posting
  • Assist in the undertaking of weekly, monthly and year end balance sheet reconciliations (payroll, PAYE, NIC etc.)
  • Deal with payroll year end including preparation and submission of year end reports, etc.
  • Assist in the preparation of year end audit files and queries
  • Ensure full compliance with all regulatory matters as required
  • Constantly review payroll processes and submit and/or implement improvements as appropriate
  • General office administration duties as required

The Person

  • At least 1-2 years previous payroll experience
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the business
  • Strong Excel skills (V lookups and pivot tables)
  • Experience of Sage Payroll would be advantageous
