Autograph Recruitment are working with a specialist Civil Engineering contractor in Wales who are looking to appoint a Sub Agent to join their growing team. The company who has been trading for more than 40 years and they are a family business covering a broad range of schemes these include Highways, Earthworks, Commercial, Structures, Environmental and Coastal projects across the UK.
The business whilst being involved in major projects and frameworks have also secured several other exciting projects which has resulted in them looking to expand their teams across the South Wales and also the South West. The company are regional so will always have projects local to Wales however they do have a big presence across the UK for delivering on Earthworks schemes.
The team in Somerset led by the Operations Director are looking for an experienced Sub Agent with experience of working on large scale Earthworks projects and someone who has delivered projects in access of £10M. The company are looking for a Sub Agent to oversee a team of Engineers and to manage the QA and Health and Safety aspects of all projects projects. You will be reporting into the Site Agent & Project Manager and based on sites across wales although they do also have an office in Bristol.
In this role you will be working autonomously but you will also have the support from a well-established team as and they offer continual development career progression. The role will be based based in their Bristol office and across various sites.
Management of site staff operatives and sub-contractors.
Provide method statements, hazard risk assessments and project management plans.
Understand tender allowances and monitor contract costs against agreed budgets.
Preparing and monitoring programmes of work.
Assessment and engagement of sub-contractors.
Manage design co-ordination.
Manage contracts to ensure timely and profitable completion of contracts.
The ideal candidate:
Must be degree/HNC qualified with an Engineering background
Will have previous experience of Earthworks/Roads
Should have strong QA experience and be able to lead a team of Engineers
