Outreach Support Worker
Location: London Borough of Harrow
Salary: £18,000 - £19,000

Start date: October 2021- ASAP!

Hours: hours a week (including weekends)

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are previous experience working in the chosen field.

We are recruiting for a Children’s Outreach Support Worker to support children and young people with learning disabilities and complex needs to enjoy mainstream activities in the community.

The successful Support Worker will be able to …

Care for children and young people with high support needs including challenging behaviours.
Be flexible – you will be working in the community, the support centre, or family home.
Ensure all the individual needs of children and young people are met.
Make safeguarding children your ultimate priority.
Liaise with families and attend meetings – upkeeping good communication with parents
Tend to 1:1 activities such as personal care, cooking and cleaning, attending appointments, college and work
Inspire children and young people to achieve their ambitions.
Identify, set up and attend group activities of shared interest and build meaningful, enjoyable friendships.

Requirements:

DBS on the Update System
Experience of supporting on 1:1 or group-based situations with children or young people
Excellent communication skills and ability to take initiative
Ability to complete written work and use computer systems including MS Word and Outlook
