Our person centred, professional teams are looking for responsible and motivated Relief Support Workers to join them to support Adults with a range of needs across Derbyshire! This includes Derby City, Swanwick, Chesterfield, Belper and Long Eaton! Working on a relief basis gives you flexibility as there are no set hours, shifts are given on an 'as and when' basis.
You will be supporting adults with a learning disability to do just the same things you and others do. This might be anything from cooking and cleaning, to going to the supermarket or taking part in leisure activities. You will help them to lead the life they choose. We focus on person centred support, tailored to individuals needs.
As a Relief Support Worker, part of your role will be to provide support with daily living skills including cooking, cleaning, personal care, managing finances, going out into the community or visiting family. It is important for the people we support to live life as they choose and achieve the things that are important to them. At Mencap, our support teams support and enable the people we choose to make decisions on matters that concern them including how they would like to be supported, places to visit, what to wear or what meals to hav e.
You will need to have:
- Good people skills Ability to work to deadlines and within a constantly changing environment Ability to complete paperwork. * A willingness to participate in sleep-ins is highly desirable
