Are you enthusiastic about supporting people with a learning disability to do the things they want to do? Could you spare a few hours a week to support with activities such as bowling, shopping, music and cookery?
If you are friendly, reliable and enthusiastic, then this could be the perfect role for you!
We are a small team of Mencap staff supporting people with a learning disability at a day centre in Denton, Tameside. We are looking for two volunteers to support people with a learning disability with activities at the centre and out and about in the community such as:
- Bowling Music Arts and crafts Shopping Drama * And more!
We are looking for volunteers on a Tuesday and a Friday morning and hope that you could commit to a minimum of six months.
Being an Activities Volunteer means that you will be actively:
- Reducing social isolation for people with a learning disability Increasing the independence and confidence of individuals with a learning disability Enabling people with a learning disability to fully access their local communities * Supporting people with a learning disability to have the opportunity to do activities they enjoy
