Our Social Networks is a Heritage Lottery Funded project collecting stories about friendships and relationships from people with a learning disability aged 18-25 and over 45 living in Wales.

The project is run by 2 project managers, two project officers, 4 project ambassadors and 4 support workers.

The project is focussed in 4 areas across Wales – Bangor, Abergavenny, Wrexham, and Cardiff.

There will be pop up exhibitions staffed by volunteers and staff, and longer scattered exhibits in social locations in town centres, which will consist of photo displays, listening posts and a mobile app.

What will I be doing in this role?

In this photography volunteer role you will help provide photographic evidence of project activity and document the friendships and relationships of people with a learning disability.

You could also share your experience and skills with volunteers who want to learn more about photography.

Activity may include:

  • Photographing a life story interview as it happens. Photographing project participants. Documenting time spent between friends or romantic partners. Documenting project events. Sharing skills at our monthly volunteer workshops.

Yn y rôl gwirfoddolwr ffotograffiaeth hon fe fyddwch yn helpu i ddarparu tystiolaeth ffotograffig o weithrediadau’r prosiect a dogfennu cyfeillgarwch a pherthynas pobl ag anabledd dysgu.

Gallech hefyd rannu eich profiad a’ch medrau â gwirfoddolwyr sy’n dymuno dysgu rhagor am ffotograffiaeth.

Gall gweithrediadau gynnwys:

  • Tynnu llun cyfweliad stori bywyd wrth iddo ddigwydd Tynnu llun cyfranogwyr y prosiect Dogfennu amser a dreulir rhwng ffrindiau neu bartneriaid carwriaethol Dogfennu digwyddiadau’r prosiect Rhannu medrau yn ein gweithdai misol i wirfoddolwyr.


Mencap volunteers can expect:
